Engine project (but not for the Vette)

We bought a GM short block for the sake of expedience. It has a lot of nice features and the fact that all the parts are brand new, makes it a good value.
I'll be doing a little parts swapping, however.

Not too bad lookin'

The only thing that bugs me are the dished pistons. That will hurt the compression a little.
These stiffeners are a great feature, they help immensely in sealing the oil pan and not bending the pan rail. What an idea.
Ooooo, powered metal connecting rods. They are really nice looking. Perhaps nitrous isn't such a bad idea.

Engines are cool, eh?
It also comes with a nice single row roller timing chain. That's good enough for this engine. This was a nice surprise.
Out with the old cam, it's only rated at 205 hp.
Gooping the cam. It's a Comp Cams Extreme 4x4 262H-11. Good for towing int. .460, exh .480, adv. dur 262/270. @ .050 dur. 218/226
A little silicone in each corner as per Fel Pro instructions.
These new gaskets are awesome.
All done, until next time.

Was thinking about putting my 750 dp on it just to see what it would rear wheel dyno at.
