Hello All,
Is the Crossfire injection manifold from an 82 Corvette close to the original chevy cross ram manifolds? Can they be modified to work well with two 4 barrel carbies.
the ports can be opened up to match the heads .but they will still be to small to work with what you are trying to do .http://www.crossfireinjection.net/gallery.htmthey sell a manifold that is better for the crossfire .for what you want, you would be money and performance a head to buy a manifold that is made for two carbs.

I agree. The Renegade intake from DCS (crossfire replacement) is a good choice. You might be able to contact them and see if you can get it with a blank top plate to machine.
If you are looking to build a high rpm screamer motor then you could go for the Offy, which is very similar to the old one of lore. Other than that there's the SY-1 and the STR-10, you might find one of these on ebay.
Don't use the original crossfire, you'll be disapointed after putting in a lot of work.
Thanks for the replies, great info. A bit of background info. I bought a 1980 with a 383 with holley alloy heads when i was in LA in September from a Forum member. It has a Wieand manifold, rochester carby with the dual snorkel air cleaner with a drop down lid. I have measured the carb to top of lid and it is about 15mm, not much clearance at all and the lid is still very close to the hood. I am looking for an alternatives instead the expense of a L88 style hood. Next step is to remove the AIR set up and then the rest of the pollution gear including the Catalytic conveter (seems to makes the rest of the exhaust system extremly hot, could be just the restrictive mufflers, she is very quite). She has good grunt of the line and spin easily into 2nd gear with the T700r and 3.5 diff gears (Still to confirm), but does not pull hard at higher revs. I am figuring due to the restrictive air inlet and exhaust. We have no smog check in Queensland, Australia and the first cars to have a Cats in Australia was 1986. The only smog gear we are supposed to have is the PCV and the EGR for 1980. It sounds like i would be wasting my time with even a modified crossfire manifold, Thanks for the input.
