I installed solid motor mounts
Yesterday, what a PITA. But anyway about a month ago we had a discussion on which ones were the correct part number. the 2 1/2 inch "B" width is super tight and I had a heck of time getting all three motor side bolts in. The other correct part# is the 62530 which is 2 5/8 and that extra 1/8th of an inch makes the install easier.
To get the mount bolt out that has the power steering frame going to it. The only tool that can get on it is a dropped end 9/16th box end

Been there, done that a few times. I usually bolt the mounts & p/s frame to the engine then shoehorn them onto the frame mounts.
I've thought of bung welding a nut to the front of the drivers mount to deal with the gymnastics George describes.

I bolt the mounts to the block loose then connect to frame then tighten nuts. There is one bolt at the front drivers side that's a pain in the **** because the power steering bracket is in the way but you can get a wrench on it and turn it about 1/8 each time

I had solids in before and it really tightens up the front end real nice and no vibrations from a 250dur cam. I changed back to poly because every time I shifted it would bang, there is no give, even at low rpm. Let us know how you like the solids, I loved them at first but after about a year shifting normally it would band so I changed them

LOL I bought my moroso solid mounts off a wall at a place long ago for my 68 camaro, so I couldn't tell you a part number. Saved em off that car n used on this one. The mount was a tight fit so I just bent one side out some n it slid on, bolt it on the motor n lowered it down. Just used some elbow grease to snug it back up with the bolt n nut and made sure it squeezed it tight. The one I used on the camaro was bent in some already, guse those mounts where smaller than these.

I've never had this happen. I suppose its better that you could see the crack. With the rubber mounts, you don't know they're going to let go until the motor starts lifting and dropping back onto the broken mount. I don't see rubber mounts holding up long in 500+hp applications.

Don't forget to use locktite when attaching to the block. While changing my oil this past summer, I found the left side mount bolts were starting to back out

IMCO, its best to develop a regular habit of close inspections with ANY high-performance/race vehicle. Even then, if you pound on anything long and/or hard enough you will still get caught out by the occasional freak failure. BTDT more than once myself (complementary trips to hospital included), and that in professionally maintained racing cars. That said, I've yet to have a solid motor mount fail (touch wood), but have lost rubber ones in dramatic fashion. My $.02

Wow a boosted 350ci that make less HP than my N/A 427ci; and to answer your question I was making passes in 454ci boosted rear enigine dragster in the late 70's and was top qualifier many times.

And yeah I followed your 'super build' and I've got about a third of the cash in mine. I saw no need to use Mr.Pro Stock peices in a street motor. Any time you want to do a stoplight to stoplight in your Warren Johnson wanna be..bring it on.
