im looking online currently to replace my gear box now do i have to buy the borgeson steering box conversion kit or will the steering box alone do the job and i can utilize my power-steering lines that i have. i also i have a new rag joint as well. I was told that those to could be the reason that my steering wheel has about 2-3 inches of play in it.
Youre replying to a very old thread. You will have much better luck creating your own thread for input from other members.
On the other hand, to answer your question, if you decide to do the Borgeson upgrade, you will need to buy kit #999032. The kit will eliminate your steering ram and control valve, and comes with a new rag joint as well as new ps hoses.
I bought this kit for my 74, and am still in the process of installing it amidst my partial restoration. So I cannot give you any hands-on experience of how it has affected my drivability.
Most vendors charge $800-$900 for the kit, but I bought mine on flea bay for $650 shipped.
