built a basically original 350 horse small block.i used the lt 1 intake.what size holley should i use that will clear the hood with the original air cleaner.thanks
Hi s,
I guess it depends on what year your car, hood, and air-cleaner are.
The original LT-! intake with it's Holley and open air-cleaner required the clearance given by the bb hood.
I looked at your profile for a clue.... but it's blank.

Just an item to consider. Many stock air cleaner bases have interference issues with double pumper Holleys. Doublecheck that area before you spend any money.
Hi S,
It's my understanding that with the LT-! intake the front of the air-cleaner contacts the sb hood. That's why the bb hood has the additional height towards the front of the hood compared to the sb hood.

Hi Phil,
Is the crankcase breather hooked up? Do you remember what brand of air cleaner you used?

Alan
Alan I sold this car about 6 years ago and only remember I bought the drop base air cleaner from Noah Performance on Ebay, yes the vent hose was active.
The intake was the 116 service replacement for the 1970 LT-1
