Question is two fold.
1. Do you think the side pipe that goes to the hooker header is removable to replace? It has a 4pipe header adapter then in to the side pipes. If so where would you go to buy them.
2. One header was welded when we did the HP engine (by the block, it cracked), when under the car (new tranny starts today) I see the holes in the frame for straight through exhaust, did the LS82 have a non Hooker header item/install, i.e. just straight back pipes?
3 hours online and many calls, I can NOT find the side pipes for the Hooker exhaust. The headers are original Hookers. Mid Atlantic offer the entire set... I just need side pipes.
All help appreciated.

Great Picture, so I am now assuming the Hooker set up was added in the first 9K miles. ???
I like the sound with the built motor, HATE the Damn I just burnt my leg again...
To replace all, I would need the factory manifold.
New Headers and pipes are $1700... unsure what to do. I have owned her a week Saturday and already spent $6k.
I guess that is why my wife wants me to have a hobby in the Boating off season...
Someone has to sell the pipe I need. Back to the internet tomorrow.

After studying that picture, there is no way that layout would go through the round frame holes... Intersting.
So why does the car have 2 holes and only use one???

The crossmember was made for a dual exhaust, when they went to the single exhaust because of the cat converter, they just didn't bother to change it.
One option would be to take it to an exhaust shop and they could make any system you desire. They may even be able to fabricate a 4" pipe to attach to your side pipes.
Why do you need to replace the sidepipes you have now?
Great data, , I am learning.... it confirms the data I am finding online, so the orig owner must have added the hooker exhaust, it was that way when my brother got it at 13K miles, years ago. They do sound great with over 400HP from a SB. I am a cops dream...
The tubes are rusting, not sure why, garage kept for sure. Issues at engine rebuild, had to strengthen the weld by the motor. So it is a cosmetic replacement. Not sure what I want to do at this point. I have (as of today) spent about 5 to 6K on the car this week.
UPDATE Back from the shop, all is well, had HOT SPOTS in the tranny, all new going in, and there is a brake issue. Yes it does not apply to this thread CHEVY 69 A Hole.... so one pad drove a deep groove. all new rotors and pads coming.
Also, thanks for the Zip Vette hook up....
