Here is my 78 PS Pump before and after the Alt. Not very much room for the PS Pump fill cap.

Default Borgeson #800306

pavel,
I have had enough of my factory PS pump. I had to loosen the adjustment bolts, and move the pump towards the crankshaft in order to get the cap off every time I wanted to check the fluid.

A few months ago, I fitted a billet aluminum alternator bracket and I still had to grind a bit off the bottom of it in order to remove the PS cap, but it now makes that job easy. I bought it from Summit and you might want to look at that.

Recently, the pump started to squeal, and I'm sure that the belt is tight, but a few weekends ago, it spat most of the fluid out so I pulled it off.
I have a Borgeson #800306 pump, the GM "metric" pump that's fitted with AN ends and have been trial fitting it to a spare engine. I've been talking to Riggs74 on this Forum about his remote pump reservoir and like what he's done.

Sorry to veer from your question, but as mds said, this cap removal problem is normal.

Regards from Down Under.

Default 74 power steering pump

when you go to tighten up the belt put two bolts in the holes in the front of the pump housing. you will see them. try a shorter belt.

Well, the wheel is off. If you see three tracks on the bottom shaft wheel; and power steering pump wheel if you look right- it is between front and middle tracks. So the belt will rubb. I'm debating myself: if I done something wrong or to get spacers and longer bolts and to space it out!?

Is power steering pump wheel suppose to align with outside or middle track of c/ shaft?
Does anybody have link to diagram of configuration with AC?
