HI
I bought a complete 1981 Engine and trans out of a wrecked corvette
does anyone have any diagrams that shows what everything is and where it all hooks up ?
Thanks
Check eBay for a Shop Manual or Assembly Manual. The Shop Manual has pictures and lots of explanations and the Assembly Manual has all the diagrams only. There are always several of these listed.
These books are copyrighted, so copying diagrams from them violates copyright laws. Somebody will probably copy the diagrams you want, but I won't. You should have one or both of these manuals anyway if you're going to work on your '81 yourself.
There are several pages of connections, mostly for the CCC and the emissions components. The trans is pretty straight forward. Two cooling lines, one speedo cable, one shifter cable, one 4 pin connector (for the torque converter lock up). The engine has electrical connections for the EGR selonoids, carburetor, distributor, AC (if equiped), temp sensors the oil sending unit, and there's another harness that goes from a plug high on the firewall to the starter. I think that's all of them, unfortunatley there isn't one diagram that shows it all.
