Does anyone know if they make a kit that would eliminte the power door locks and put manual lock rods in a 80. It's really not that far of a reach to unlock the pass.door.
The assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows the installation of the standard locks and the optional power locks. Not much difference between the two.
There is not likely to be a kit. Most folks who have power locks want to keep them. AIM will list the GM part numbers for the non-power lock rods. The aftermarket providers probably carry those.

I want power door locks and I currently have manual door locks.
I want to add an alarm and power door locks so that I can shave my outside key locks.
I have my interior gutted right now and was thinking about breaking into my doors to start refurbishing them so they don't rattle anymore.
Thanks for the input. I have 1 door lock actuator that doesn't like to operate all the time and it affects the one that does. I was thinking about saving a buck and just removing the power locks. I guess i'll sleep on it. Thanks
My power locks haven't worked since I have owned the car. As it is now, they are as manual as they can get. The key still unlocks the door and pushing the **** in locks it. I still have the power lock switches installed in the panels but there isn't anything conencted to them...it is on my "to do" list though
Your lucky yours work manually. My pass. actuator won't move the rod to lock or unlock.
It turns out that the actuators are only about $40 and i only need one.
