I recently (last week) installed a new trans crossmember on my '82 to make way for true dual exhaust. I looked at the "G" Force crossmember, but decided to go with one from Bowtie Overdrives as it was much cheaper. I assume you too have the 700R4 trans. The only thing you need to know is where the trans mount is located. If it is near the pan, then you need to use the their 700R4 crossmember. If is like mine, and the trans mount is on the tailshaft, then you need to use their 2004R crossmember. Their price is $195.00 and I had absolutely no issues installing it. It bolted right up and took less than an hour of my time.
have you tried calling the manufacturer? (330) 753-5300
i did .... when i ordered it .... they weren't certain of the differences between the 81 and 82 ... but asked that i let them know when we install ..... just thought someone might have already been there ... done that .....
