New problem with the Keisler Tremec
I am out of ideas. After the latest leak repair (new drive shaft and yoke - thank you Keisler!) my '70 has developed a new problem - while making a left turn I am getting a noise that sounds like it's coming from the trans. It is so loud that at first I thought it was a tire contacting fiberglass. Checked all the clearances - no problem there. The strange part is that if you put pressure on the shifter, pulling it to the left, the noise lessens or goes away. Any ideas?

It looks like the bottom half of my shroud is missing. I'm going to try removing the top half to see if the noise goes away. Since it's only 30 degrees today I don't think overheating will be a problem!

unfortunately it's been too cold to get out out of the garage. I did relocate the fan shroud a bit farther from the fan to see if that may have been involved - you know how sound transmits in the these things. I'll let you know. Thanks for following up!
You can raise the hood, set the brake and put the engine under 'load', in gear, ease the clutch out some and see how the engine reacts. That's how I found my noise from a broken motor mount allowing the engine to raise up and the fan hit the shroud.
