Default Head light vacume system

It is taking forever for my head lights, and my wiper door to open.

Is this happening because of a broken part in the vacume system, or a leak in the vacume lines?

Does anyone know how many inches of mercury the vacume lines should be pulling, and where?

This is on my 1968, 427, 390hp big block.

There is a site called corvette101.com which covers the entire vacuum system f/ the C3 'Vette. That should answer your questions and even trouble shoots the whole thing. Good luck.

You should be above 10 and 14 is preffered. Many many reasons for the lights not to be working right. Do some searches but probably most common is the actuators themselves have leaky outer and/or inner boot seal. You can purchase the seals seperately or buy a new actuator. Make sure you know your problem before guessing with new parts. My .02

I just bumped our thread on the vacuum schematics in the general section. Go upload them too, they'll help you a bunch.
