So I have been knocking down all the gremlins in the 82 CE. Rebuilt the A/C, Fuel system, Throttle bodies, just put in a new cam. Tonight I decided to go after the A/C blower relay and the dash lights that were dimmer than any car I have ever owned. I replaced the A/C relay, no biggie.
The dash lights..... I went to remove the switch and had to pull the speedo cluster. Bubba was here! The printed circuit board had several breaks in the copper conductors. Bubba had run wire under the "tabs" of several bulbs trying to jump the breaks. No wonder the lights were so dim! Each jump added resistance. I soldered a small wire across all of the breaks, and installed all new bulbs. Now I can actually see the gauges at night! Un-Bubbaed !
