I've done the search and didn't find an answer. I'm installing rubber bushings and I have the tool to press them in and flare. Got the first one in and compressed the rubber about as tight as I could get it with just a wrench. The washer is bevel side up, but there doesn't seem to be enough of the sleeve sticking through to make a proper flare. How far should the sleeve stick through to get a good flare? Thanks, Dave.
If you don't have enough room to flare the sleeve then you do not have the bushing compressed enough. With the washer installed you'll see probably about 1/8" of sleeve from the bottom edge of the beveled washer.
If you look at the washer it has a bevel that the sleeve should be flared into and not stick out past the edge. Make sense? I hope so, maybe someone has a picture handy
Well thanks for the kind offer and replys. I got them both in today with the help of some younger muscle, my son. They look good and now if I can get the spindle in without messing something up. Dave.
