Default Head Suggestions for current L-48 setup?

Hey guys, so I am looking for some more power out of my L-48 which ran a best of 14.8s in the 1/4 mile and was thinking about heads but I am not sure what to get with my cam I have in now. My friend recently passed away and he was the one who helped install all of my current parts so I am in need of some extra guidance choosing mods. Here is the cam specs (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-CL12-211-2/), and intake manifold (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-37011/). Would vortec 64cc heads be a good option or would I have to get a different cam and manifold to match the heads?

Also would it be worthwhile to upgrade the carb to a holley 670cfm street avenger carb from the stock q jet? Other misc add ons I have include headers with dual exhausts, March pulleys and HEI distributor and I can't remember if we put roller rocker arms or not.

Stock vortec heads max out @ .450 lift and the intake is different. I would look at a Brodix IK 180, Dart SHP 180 or if your budget allows AFR 180 will get you more power. AFR 195 if your planning to upgrade to a bigger engine in the future. Go with a thin head gasket Felpro 1094 and any of the above aluminum heads. They will match your cam, intake and other upgrades fine. Qjet carb is fine.

I have Vortec heads, should have got them with Z28 springs and screw in studs. The upgrade cost would be the same as Brodix or Dart heads. "Dart Heads" just sounds better than Vortec. Plus the motor would look correct and fit better under a corvette hood.

I've run 12.40 with Vortec heads and a Quadrajet. Just more food for thought.

Take a look at these, they are the Dart SHP heads that Mako63 mentioned.

Thats a quick time! You have a 383? Iv thought about turning mine into a stroker but I am deciding to try heads first and see if they will improve my time along with a new dewitt's radiator to cool things down a little more and different tires. I would be happy to get in the low 14s high 13s with a L-48.

Yeah, mine is a 383. I'm only running 106/107 mph though so its not making crazy power. Maximizing the launch really helps that ET. My best 60 ft is 1.70.

I will have to see if I have my time slips and see what my 60 ft was.
