78 AC Bracket Spacer needed
Now that I have my headers on I just need one more part to finnish it. I was unable to find some kind of spacer long enough to fill the gap. Also I need a long bolt but that should not be a problem to find. :smash:

about the only easy source for that sort of thing is a junkyard in 70's cars....look at the accessories mountings old Pontiacs are famous for what you need, you willhave to cut and modify one to fit, it's not that hard to do...

Hay Randy I looked at all kinds of pipe and was unable to find one thick enough to be used as A bracket. I,v checked places like Ace and Home Depot and some other hardware stores for the pipe.
Gene I have not found the time to do the junk yard hunting yet. I'll do that once I'm unable to find it new.

If you are talking about the spacer between the bracket & the A/C compressor,I used a piece of solid round bar,& drilled a hole down the centre for the bolt clearance,then cut to the size I needed.

I just got a piece of 5/8th inch round stock cut to 1 and 1/8th inch long with a 3/8th hole drilled thru it and used original stud. Having a drill press and band saw makes it quick work but it can be done with hand tools. For the length you'll need to measure the difference between the old exhaust manifold thickness and the new header flange thickness.
