Which gives me a grand total of $6,059.79 . Jeez oh man, another $4,000 or so and I could of had a 540 :(. Oh well, it's only money . This has truely been an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. It's definitely more than I had originally set out to spend but you gotta pay to play I guess. This is why this engine has taken me nearly a year to build. The above is the reason why I will be taking a nice 500 + mile break-in period.
P.S. I just checked to see if my hood is going to close....it won't. You might as well tach on another $500 for an L88 hood and $200 for a Victor Jr. Intake. I know I could probably squeeze a drop-base air cleaner under but this Torker II is already going to be killing too much performance. I might as well get the hood and an intake to match my setup.

Bence: Don't forget about all the future gasoline bills! As you've already found out, they love to drink fuel. As I say, "You only live once, enjoy it."
Re: Well, It's Time To Post The Damage (Don Schuette)
Don't scare us like that, I thought you blew up the motor already. I do share your pain in the spending department. As for gas bills, don't even go there.... :cry

C3 Shark Tank:
I'm sorry, I didn't realize the title was so misleading. I actually haven't fired it up since I last drove it (Saturday). It's been raining here Sunday and Monday, hopefully it will stop so I can take her out on another short trip tomorrow.
On a lighter note I have a set of JCL spiral baffle inserts coming in about a week or so. I'm going to put them in just like they come, but if they quiet the car down too much I'm gonna have to start drilling some holes :). I want the loudness to be in between open headers and a "normal" big block exhaust. Personally I'd run it on open headers if it weren't for the neighbors :).

I'm sorry, I didn't realize the title was so misleading. No biggie, I soon realized by damage you meant to the bank account. :jester

I seriously doubt you'll have to do any drilling, the pipes will be plenty loud...unless you're deaf already :D You're going to really like the baffles, I'll have video/sound by the weekend if all goes well.
Re: Well, It's Time To Post The Damage (bence13_33)
Bence, lucky your engine doesnt have a carby or it could have got really expensive!!!!!!!...sorry,i couldnt resist when you seem to have listed everything except the carby.......you should try doing what you have done here in Australia, everything costs twice as much and is harder to get.....john :chevy
Probably not going to happen :nonod:. I love the simplicity and sound of a carbureted engine. FI just isn't for me....although if I were to go FI it would be mechanical fuel injection :D.
Terry:
Honestly....no I can't wipe the smile from my face :). I just keep thinking about whenever I tapped that gas and it snapped my head back and threw me to the back of my seat. I can't wait to take her out for another spin.
jdunne:
Actually my Holley 850 Double Pumper was donated to me by a fellow forum member (thanks Steve, I love the carb!).
Re: Well, It's Time To Post The Damage (bence13_33)
You didn't spend as much as I thought you would have, plus you went to sidepipes which added on a bit of money. I was expecting the total to be closer to 10K for some reason. Good Job! I cheated getting my BB. :D
Great job! Money well spent. It is good to hear that there is still guys out there that pays attention to the finer details and don't get cought up in just the performance parts alone, for example all of the bolts you bought that shouldn't be neglected.

Re: Well, It's Time To Post The Damage (Steve Adkins)
You're a brave, brave man Shane. It took a lotta guts to post that list. I'm not sure I coulda.
I have a feeling that you'll be cranking out more HP than a crate engine so the $$ spent will be well worth it. You've got quality parts, some extras here & there(Oil pan, sidemounts, radiator etc) so I think you're ahead of the game. I definitely want to drive up there one day this summer just to hear this baby!
BTW, there's a Dyno near me that charges $75 for the first run and $65 for each additional run.

Right there with ya buddy. Remember that nice hood that I spent a long time sanding and prepping and masaging, and loving, saying things to it like "You're a naughty hood, naughty". I'm going to have to replace it with an L88. After thinking about it, snuffing my engine with a Torker II would be a mistake.
Re: Well, It's Time To Post The Damage (bence13_33)
Shane, that's actually not "too" bad for what you have at the end result :) . That's a lot of motor for the money :yesnod: ! Tighten down the seat brackets and enjoy the ride :D .
