I just changed all of the stock components like the intake manifold and quadrajet carb, wiht edelbrock performer series carb and intake. WHat do i do with the throttle cable bracket?it is different because of the holes that the carb uses. THe car is a 71 350 and the bracket pinches the cable. THe bracket also has a hole for the carb stud to run through and a pin to hold the bracket from swiveling. the new carb uses the opposite configuration with reguards to the holes. any suggestions on throttle brackets? If anyone has a pic of the set up im talking about please show pics. thatnks

The original will not work as is. I just installed the "Lokar" throttle cable and bracket. It cost about $50 from Summit. You can also get other cheaper brackets. Here is a pic of the Lokar setup on my Holley. It is infinitely adjustable and will work on any carb.
did u have the stock line what year is your car mine is a 71 the throttle cable does not attach to the bracket the same way (with bolts), it is pinched between metal? is there a bracket that accomidates this?
Mines a 74. The Edlebrock Performer I had worked just fine with the stock bracket. I used an Edelbrock throttle cable connector on the carb though. On the throttel lever.
I don't know if this will help, but I just fabbed a piece out of an old muffler clamp (necessity is the mother of invention...). Moved my stock bracket back a bit with the piece and bolted it down. Granted I have a Holley instead of an Edelbrock, but it sounds like the problems were similar.
