Default Quadrajet 4MV help needed.

I am rebuilding the carb on my '74 4 speed. I can't find info on the part number on it. 7045626. I'm not sure if this is the original carb. I need to know the float level height. Thanks!

Your rebuild kit should tell you the float setting.

This is good.

Nope. 7045626 is not listed on it.

Can't find any info on your carb but my 74 has a 7044207 and the float is set to .375"
You might start there.

Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to look that up. I had a feeling it was 3/8's. I set it to .250 and it ran like poop and smoked. Thanks again. Tom

If you're doing any kind of work on Q-Jets, the mentioned Doug Roe book's a good one. Can also contact Q-Jet guru Lars Grimsrud v8fastcars@msn.com. If anyone can help, he's the guy.

This is not the original carb, it's from a '75 Chev of some sort with auto trans.

Are you sure the '626' isn't '526'? If so, it's a 1975, California, Chevy, with auto.
