Electrical Antenna problem - 1980
I replaced my elctric antenna with a new GM antenna for my 1980 vette. I also replace the radio with a new Pioneer stereo. I followed all the instructions but have an antenna issue.
The antenna goes up as soon as I turn the key on and turns off when I tuen the key off. The stereo works fine.
I know that the antenna has to be connected to the switched wire and the radio to the constant 12v wire.
Maybe the radio is too modern for the cars wiring relay boxes. The wiring is all original with the relay boxes behind the passenger seat.
Any ideas?

Just replaced the stereo in my 81 vette. The radio had a power antenna lead that didn't work with the old wiring. However, it had a power lead for a power amp. that worked just fine.
If your stereo has a power lead for an amp., try hooking that to the yellow wire on the antenna relay and see if that solves the problem.
