I have a 1969 Corvette Conv, 350/350, w 4 speed. When I accerate at idle, the interior lights and dash lights slightly dim and flicker. Any suggestions what it could be?

Reason: more info
There are 4 main harnesses in '69 manual vetts without A/C. The forward lite harn.,engine harn., dash harn. and the rear lite harn.
The engine vibration or torque maybe causeing the flicker. This problem
can be caused by a lot of things but with the engine not running and the lites on I would move wires and harnesses to see if the lites flicker.
Pay special attention to the harness firewall connector thats located
on the driver side fire wall below the the master cyl. Also there maybe a intermitt. short from a harness that has had the insulation worn through from contact with metal due to vibration. Do the same
with the dash harness. Just to let you know the fire wall connector plugs into the back of the fuse panel. Hope this helps. At least its a starting point. Good luck.
Car is at idle (standing still), when I accerate...battery is less than a year old. If anything, the lights should get brighter when you give it gas..I was told by a pro that just rebuilt the entire car that either the alternator or regulator could be bad. He mentioned I should get about 14.4 volts output on the alternator...will also check for loose wiring with car off as someone suggested...will let you guys know when Ifind the problem...thanks..
