Default Need wiring advice

Hi, i need to lengthen the 3 wires to alternator due to cutting back over the years. The car is a 70 BB auto with A/C so my alt. is a 61 0r 63 amp unit. What guage is the heavy red wire that goes to the post with the nut,and what guage is the blk/wht.strip on rt. side of white plastic plug-in and also the guage of the brown/wht. strip on the left side of white plastic plug-in. The brown/white strip wire is a solid core with one strand like shielded gas MIG wire, is this guy special or what can I use. Also, what is guage of black ground wire that goes to my valve cover. Thanks for all responses,Babypig.

Your local auto parts store will carry the white plastic connector with the 2 wires which you can just splice onto the existing wires. The red wire should be 10 gauge.

Solid conductor wire for automotive use, can't say I've ever heard of that. No matter what kind of wire you use, make sure it's temperature rated. As mentioned earlier, many parts supply houses have crimp connectors and such, and you'll need a tool. Good idea using some dialectric grease, or RTV on the ends, to keep moisture out. You can also go the soldering, heat shrink wrap route too. Check the Waytek Wire site, as carry just about anything wiring.
