Default Help me! Need engine swap

Hello everybody, i recently heard a weird noise in my engine and stopped at my local mechanic to only find that a "bearing rod" or piston is broken and likely cracked my block. I have a 1976 Corvette Stingray with a L-48 350ci engine. Is it a 4 Bolt or 2 Bolt?? and where is a good place to get an engine swap? and what engine do you reccomend? i am looking for a little more horsepower but under 3000.

Is the engine running, if so doubt you have a cracked block or broken piston. If you want a new full or partial engine you can try www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com

L-48s are two bolt. Do you have a cracked block?

You may want to have that checked out a little more, before springing for a whole new engine. A frozen piston pin from bad oiling, sounds similar to a bad rod bearing, as the piston slaps against the wall. Had this happen before. A $3K budgets pretty tight, for just about any way you go on something like this. Maybe good listing your location, since you're asking about a shop.
