Default Where's this bracket go???

Hi Guys,

Don't usually frequent the C3 side but my good neighbor who owns an '80 and I just finished putting the top half of his motor back together and we had the good sense to take pics of before we touched it...mainly of all the wiring and vacuum lines. He's done a pretty good job of bringing the compartment back to factory looking. He does need to replace a # of clamps but he definitely is a proud, happy camper on this '80.

This is his first Vette and he purposely sought out a 4 speed. As luck had it this yellow 4 speed literally "knocked on his door" as we were gassing up on the way back from a trip from the west side of the state.

Anyhoo, I didn't bother to take pics of the alternator and air conditioning compressor setup (we must have spent 3 to 4 hours reinstalling these today.

The bracket in question is this one (1st 3 pics are of it)...the next are the fruits of his labor. We're both stumped on this bracket so any help by you gurus on '80 Vettes is welcomed.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Jim
