Default Accelerator pedal mounting area

The fiberglass mounting area for my accelerator pedal is becoming weak. Anyone deal with that before. Adding more stiffining plates or ?

I myself have not done it, but you could make a metal plate or lay down some new glass over the floor to reinforce it.

Hi tp,
I believe there's supposed to be a metal reinforcing plate on the engine side of the firewall for the accelerator rod mount... is your's there?
It was riveted to the fiberglass.
Regards,
Alan

Yep, the plate is there but not large enough to take the wear and tear. Just a desing flaw. I'm going to try to lay new fiberglass on the inside of the firewall. And if I have to I'll try it on the engine compart side too. Thanks guys.
