I'm trying to get more information on a part that's supposed to be inside the door cavity of 1981 vettes. It's a shield that sits above the locking mechanism that prevents the door lock from being opened by a slim jim. Don't know if it's metal or plastic.
I've tried to find this part from my usual suppliers, but I don't even know what it's called, so ordering it is rather difficult.
Any info on this part or where to get a pair of them?

They were called shields or lock shields, at least back in the early cars (mines a 72) they were plastic
I don't think I've seen repro's. Probably check with someone in the used parts section, someone will be parting one out.

Just checked, there is a couple of sets in the parts for sale section

near the bottom of the pictures (3rd from bottom) with some antenna stuff there is a set, and a single up a ways from there,
I don't know if/when they changed, my 72 AIM says it's a 3966773/4
Check your AIM or someone else with a 81 AIM can check the p/n
