When I try to start the car, the battery voltage drops and the starter won't turn over. Replaced the battery same thing, and I can smell burning. When I measure the starter solenoid resistance it reads .5 ohms. Seems pretty low. Anyone know what the resistance should be?
Thanks

I'm assuming Daily Driver 1969 Big Block? (dd69bb) Okay battery changed that means connections at the battery are probably good. Next check the positive connection at the starter and check the ground cable from the battery to the frame. These are two of the most important connections on the car. That resistance does sound low but even still it sounds like the starter isn't capable of turning the engine anymore and either the starter or the wiring is heating up. See if there is a local shop near you that specializes in rebuilding starters and alternators. Have the starter tested and if needed rebuilt.
The connections are checking out OK. The .5 ohms works out to 24 amps. Seems like a lot of current. Guess I'll have to pull the starter to check it out.
