Default Quick request to another 1977 Owner

Have all original 77 bought month or so ago. Found a loose black wire small gauge with ring lug on end, laying on the frame below the brake master cylinder between the proportioning valve and inner fender. The car has cruise control that is not working. Everything else I can find is working. Haven't tried the windshield washer though. The wire comes into the engine compartment from wiring harness down low where frame, firewall, and inner fender intersect. It is roughly 12-18 inches long from where it comes into the engine compartment. This is a later model 77 with the alarm switch in the door lock. Would someone with same car please take a look and see if you can see where this wire might terminate. I thought maybe it was a grounding point wire for valve cover but it is not long enough. I will try to take a picture later and post. many thanks in advance for your help.

If we are looking at the same black wire, it goes to the cruise control transducer on the RH side.

Regards,
Sean...

Thank you so much for quick reply. Trying to get some of these projects done this weekend. I looked at my cruise control transducer...I have no black wires terminating there so sounds like you are spot on . Is your black wire terminal lug under a nut? Is it the nut that fits on the bolt that mounts the cruise control transducer?

I have some speedo noise so maybe all this is related.

Thanks again.

Yes, that would be the one, it goes behind the nut. Best of luck with your projects.
