Anyone using Autozone Brake Calipers?
Just wondering if anyone was using these calipers. Both of my fronts are leaking. So something has to be done. The ones on my car are VBP that have been on there for who knows how long. I was just curious. Thanks for any input.

I'm using them. Been 2 years or so and they're fine sofar. Look through their boxes. I managed to find some brand new ones in boxes that said "rebuild". Not bad getting a brand new caliper for $70, with a lifetime warranty.

I have two rears on and they seem to be fine. Lifetime warranty. I had to fight with them a little on the price. Other forum members said they had bought them for $59.95ea., and my local AZ wanted $119.95ea. Wouldn't even call the other out-of-state AZ I confirmed the $59 price with to do a price match. A couple emails to the company headquarters, and I got them for $59.95 each.

How long ago did you buy and ... what zip / area did you find the original $60 price?

I've got AZ calipers on mine and have no problems at all. Good quality, good price, lifetime warranty, counter help as sharp as the trailing edge of a BB in flight... What more could a man want? :yesnod:
Re: Anyone using Autozone Brake Calipers? (72rdstr)
I just put a pair of fronts on mine. They were $83.99 each. I'm about to replace the rear set too, they are $69.99. That was at store #0551 in Idabel, OK

I've got them on all 4 corners of my '69. I've been pleased and the best part is that you can drive down the street and swap one if it starts leaking, instead of waiting for shipping both ways.

Re: Anyone using Autozone Brake Calipers? (Eddie 96)
For the difference in money I may give these a try also. It looks like most people are having good luck with them. But there is still that one bad apple which should be mine. Someone suggested that I just replace the bad o-rings and be done with it because the VBP calipers are sleeved and should still be serviceable. Wouldn`t the AutoZone calipers be sleeved also?
Re: Anyone using Autozone Brake Calipers? (Eddie 96)
I just called AZ here in Houston on some calipers. They are FENCO brand. Lifetime warranty. Fronts are model C138, and run 79.99. Rears are model C140, and run 59.99. I definitely need to replace my fronts. I may do this instead of Vette brakes.
Re: Anyone using Autozone Brake Calipers? (Eddie 96)
Actually, Autozone has TWO calipers - one that is NOT sleeved and one that IS. The more expensive of the two are sleeved. Get those! You can always get the o-ring conversion kit (around $20?) for them now or later. The sleeved ones are definitely worth the money!
