Default Roller rocker ?'s

Do I need to change the valve springs if I install 1.5's on my intake and 1.6's on my exhaust on my 81 with stock cam ?
Anybody want to stick they're neck out on this one? Fixin to order it all from summit and wanted to make sure I get all I need.
Here are my plans.
Putting on a performer intake and Carter carb (Compliments to ZORARULES for cutting me some serious slack on the price of these!!!)
Changing to 1.5 comp roller rockers on intake and 1.6 on exhaust. Also was wondering if anyone was using or could give some insite to the use of the lifter valley baffles. Do they make a difference?
Am changing the valve stem seals while I'm at it. Still need to measure the stem OD. Will do that this weekend. I think they are stock but we'll see. Am ordering the Felpro #1256 intake gaskets as suggested from edelbrock for that particular manifold and new intake manifold bolts.
Any problems that arise and I'm sure a quick visit to the forum will render plenty of advise. Any suggestions are most appreciated.

Sounds like a plan, but you are abt 1/2 way to a cam change with an intake removal. Why not add a decent cam too, and pick up some real horses? Just my $.02........................... :seeya

I did the very same thing on my 72. Valve springs should not be an issue unless they are old and weak. You'll need to add guide plates for the push rods and use hardened push rods. Comp cams suggested I use the stock length on mine and it works well. On the exhausts with the 1.6 rockers, you will probably have to elongate the slot hole thru the heads.

tnt76vette: Your right but for the moment I'm just playing with what I have moderately. Am going to build up a 383 not too far in the near distant future if everything goes as planned. If I start my cam change now I know I'll be down the rest of the summer cause then I'll get the while I'm at its with the radiator and and engine compartment detail and on and on and on. But I have to honestly say You Are Right.

AlwaysWave: About the adding of guideplates. I've read alot on here about others who have installed them without guideplates as long as the heads have the small rectangular holes for the pushrods which is what I have.Hopefully this will work cause I'm not planning on making this a major rebuild at the moment and thanx for the advise.

The lifter valley baffle is rec. to help keep hot oil off the intake for cooler mixture. Stock rockers measure about 1.47 so even 1.52 is an increase. All you need is the roller tip which fit under the L-82 Al. valve covers. Roller tip will help reduce valve guide wear. You can expect that stock heads need clearancing for 1.6.

It would be much better to change the cam.
