Unbolting the idler arm from the frame and pulling it down should give you the room you need.
A little more room can be made by removing the nut that holds the steering cylinder to the frame bracket and pulling the shaft out of the bracket.
They should fit. Just make sure you get one with the bump out for the dipstick on the correct side of the engine. I had a problem with mine because I had a different oil pickup, but yours is the one I had to buy for my pan to fit.
I checked Autozone and Advance auto but neither have the spectre pans in stock. Thought one of them might have one since it's a common engine but no go. I can't say that I've seen one at Pep Boys but I give up on their website, zero common sense was used to design it.
Good thing about Gus is if he doesn't have it at the shop he can have later that afternoon if ordered early enough or it would be the next day. He is normally the same price as Jegs and Summit, sometimes less and there is no shipping and waiting.

Sounds good to me, the proform works for me. They show the inside of it, and it is an exact duplicate of ours. The spectre does not have an inside pic.

What's wrong with that stock pan?
I would just clean up the stock pan and reuse it unless it had dents in the sump or nick with leaks - that way u shouldn't have to worry about the oil pump pick up clearance. Yours has a nice looking baffle in it. FYI i think the best replacement is the old Z28 oil pan but not sure if GMPP still sells it.
Are you ready to replace the rear seal? Now is the time to put a fresh seal in there. But read up as ther are some tricks to it and requires the right sealers - look in my profile for posts on the rear main seals. I used to post how to's on it but maybe a year or more ago now.
BTW i like your home made lift. Or is it a pit? Anyways nice work.
Appreciate the look out. But I have to put an end somewhere. This started as a cam change. I purchased a one piece gasket for the pan, thats why I removed it. The rear was not leaking. Just the front. I am already putting in a double roller time chain, chrome Water pump, cam lifters, and so on. I was originally going to have the pan and timing cover powder coated by a friend of mine. But I since learned he sold his equipment, not enough buss. for him to keep up. SO since there 50 bucks, I figured it is better then sanding and painting the old. The ramp were made a couple weeks ago. Makes working underneath a breeze.
