Tilt/Telescopic Steering
The telescoping part of my steering column on my '76 has a problem. It will no longer lock into place. If you pull on it, it will move out. How do you fix it and is it difficult? Thanks.

Probably just needs an adjustment.
Pop off your horn button and you should see a star shaped piece in the center. It will have two screws going through it and into the adjusting dial that you use to tighten the tele. You will see that you can remove those screws and put them back in in a different orientation. Do it so that you have more tightening ability with the dial.
This will all make sense when you see it.
The star shaped piece is actually the head of a bolt which is what locks the tele in position.
