This is a very interesting project. Good luck with it. Keep updating the rebuild. As others have said it's fun to watch this cars come back to life.

Congrats on the '68, keep us posted with the project.

As for the flares, it's a personal preference.

If you are referring to the turndown at the end of the springs, that is normal. It allows the springs to move without digging into themselves. Keep up the pics.

i know i havent posted in a while. I tore down the front suspension then decided that i would powder coat all the componants myself so ive been busy with that.ill post pics tonight
but i have two ?s. Somebody told me that later 68 corvettes had a steel firewall and had a steel insulation pad for the trans tunnel. My car is dated a august car so how does it have a fiberglass firewall and a fiberglass insulation pad. My other ? is my wiper door is completely frozen after soking it with pb blaster and acetone for a couple weeks. How hard is it to rebuild?

Because you need a new "somebody" for info.

Also, I'm not so sure it's just a base model.
Based on those (double hump) heads I think it's the 327/350 Hp edition.

Someone else will come along and confirm or dispell my suspicion.
And likely tell you how to read the block castings and numbers too.
