The goal with this build is to make good low to mid range power. I'm never going to race the car but would just like to have some fun around town. Anyway, aparently Dart is having a problem with getting the heads out and the delivery date has been pushed back from March to May. So my question is, if I decided to forget about the Darts and switch to the Edelbrock
E Streets (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-5089/), how will that affect the set up, good or bad, if at all, in relation to the desired goal.
The Edelbrock has a larger intake but smaller exhaust. But as seeing its not a hugh differance on the intake I would think the differance would be minor at best.
I'm sure some will swear their butt dyno can feel it but over all should be about the same for the street.
Make sure the lift of your cam is lowwer than .550 lift.
The difference is port flow ratio. The Darts intentionally flow too much on the exhaust side. They must be run with an exhaust system to reduce the flow, making them an excellent street head. Be sure to check for intake pushrod to head interference before final assembly.

Mike, thanks for the reply. My question though is, understanding that the Dart is an excellent head, is it so much better than the E street to accept waiting an indetermined time to get them? Or, considering the package and goals of the build, how do the two heads compare?
Oh and if not looking for high RPM heads why not see about using some stock GM alum. heads? Like some reworked L98 heads? Cheaper and plenty power for up to 4500rpm.
I spoke with Dart directly and was informed that, while they are running a back order for the heads, they are working through it and I should have them by the end of next month. I guess I will go ahead and get the rest of the motor built and just be ready to put the heads on once they come in. Anyway, thanks for all of the replies. Always good and useful information here.

Take the extra time waiting for your heads, and use it to degree the cam, and just generally double check stuff.
