Default wiring help

well I never really liked anything to do with turners. but i have been thinking about coming up with a way to put two neons or LEDs in the grills of my 72. i know it might seem like something stupid to do to an older car. but i was wondering how could i run this two neons to light up under the reving of the motor. like the higher i rev it, the brighter the color of the neon gets.

Just off of the top of my head I am thinking you might be able to use electric tach hardware. Maybe off something as simple as a motorcycle but that would be the easiest way to monitor and have the neon brightness change with engine RPMs.
