Hey Guys,
I have a new noise I was hoping to get some help locating. When I apply brakes, not immediately but as the car is slowing, I hear a single "Ting" coming from the rear. It sound like an exhaust pipe but seems to be related to the brakes.
I know this isn't much to go on, but maybe someone can venture a guess to get me looking in the right direction.
Thanks!,
- Jay

That's going to be very difficult to find. I wouldn't count on tracking the noise. I would instead do a thorough inspection of suspension and brakes in the rear and look for the visible clues. As common as it is to find cracked caliper mounts I'd start there. You want to look for signs of bolts heads moving etc.
Good luck.
Take a look at the parking brakes and anything that might be hitting the backing plate(s) back there. Mine broke a spring awhile back when the cable seized and started making a horrible noise when reversing; C3 Corvette park brakes aren't the most sophisticated things and tend to get sticky and hang up when not well-maintained. Best of luck!
