Default Factory Spark Plugs Question

If anyone still has their 68 or 69 owner's manual (or a shop manual), would you please look up the AC Delco Spark Plug number?

I'm try to determine the model year factory transition from non-resistor to resistor spark plugs .... I think it was 68 or 69 from my friends comments in the C2 Forum (i.e. type AC-44 vs AC -R44 ... R of course for resistor type).

Thanks.

Here's the information from the owners manual for my '69...

base engine R-44
L46 R-44
L36 R-43N
L68 R-43N
L71 R-43XL
L88 R-43XL

So Chevrolet specified resister spark plugs in 1969...for '68 I don't know.

Yes, 68 was the last year for non resistor plugs. From the 68 owners manual:

327
Original Equipment - AC-44
City Driving Only - AC-45 or AC-46
Heavy Duty (Colder) - AC-C43Com

427
Original Equipment - AC-43N
City Driving Only - none listed
Heavy Duty (Colder) - AC-C42N

Just curious, why you want to run the R44. I own a 69 L46 and always ran straight 44's after my first plug change. Reason was for better performance under extreme load and RPMs. I noticed a difference. They put the R's in there for radio noise suppression. Also closed the gap on the plugs to 33 and set the dwell to 32 vs 30.
