Here is a picture of the transmission jack that I fabricated out of a $20 Larin jack from Harbor Freight and some miscellaneous parts in the shop. The silver turnbuckle on the side adjusts the angle of the transmission. The transmission on the jack in the lowered position will fit under the C3 frame on jackstands. I tried to match the Larin paint scheme. The gray was a little darker than original.
Are you a southern transplant? That sure looks like southern engineering to me, especially the high tech tie-down
Good on you to figure it out, I've spent countless hours on my back trying to line the heavy SOB's up, something along these lines would work great.
How about coming up with something that will slip in place of the round pad on conventional floor jacks?
Got a link. Could not find it on their site. Thanks.
It looks like they're making a liar of me. They used to have one, it has a pin to fit on just about any floor jack. It's saved my backside a couple of times.

Not a transplant but I did spend a year in Lubbock, TX (Reese USAF Pilot) driving my Corvette among the dust storms. I did use some southern engineering to help a fellow Corvette owner repair a leak in his gas tank on a road trip to New Mexico. I have used this jack once; a wider wheel base would be an appropriate addition. That will be the next improvement.
