Default 1981 vette driveshaft u joint

I just converted a automatic to a 4 sp. manual . I got everything needed from another '81,except a driveshaft, which by the way is the same. The one trouble was the transmission side of driveshaft. the u joint was different, because the yoke was larger. Not finding any stores that had a correct reference for the correct part#, I had to rely on computer research. I found a site called "DRIVESHAFT SPECIALIST OF TEXAS" who had a excellent site for research on Spicer combination u joint application w/ cap and trinion sizes. The transmission side uses a Precision 353 and the rear is a 369. I only published for future reference since a quick glance nobody recent has asked this question.

Sounds like you needed a Conversion U-Joint. One side diffrent than the other. Avalable in the Spicer catalog along ith others.

Or better yet, use a 253 & 269.
Those are the equivalent solid, non-greasable joints.
Precision calls them Super Strength U-joints.
