Cam Lobe Wear
I'm in the middle of a came swap. Just got the old cam out and am really suprised at the lobe wear on cylinder 1,2,5 exhaust valves. This looks like there may be a problem somewhere else that may have caused the severe lobe wear. Anybody have some clues as what may have caused this ??e

Maybe when the old cam was installed it wasn't broken-in correctly. It may have been allowed to idle too long and the cam/lifters were starved for oil and this was the cause of the wear? With that much wear, I would probably go ahead and pull the heads to make sure there are no burnt valves. Just my opinion......

just replaced factory cam this week .factory timing chain perfect and cam plastic gear in good shape 85,ooo miles. no6 intake was real bad[round] 1and 3 had alot of wear put in comp cam xe 256h and ported out the intake .runs good :cheers:
