Odometers die with age. You will have to replace the odo if it has given up the ghost. Check model year specifics; some odos cannot be replaced separately and you'll have to go with a complete speedometer head.

You might try calling one of the gauge restorers to see if after hearing your symptoms they think they can repair it. That might be more cost effective than a new speedo or head mechanism.

I was pleased with the work D&M Restorations did on my tach.
spoke with my mechanic
total hours to take it out and put it back in = 5hrs
he will have to send it out to be repaired, which means the dash will be apart for app 10 days
Needless to say I am not happy with the $'s and timelines
I may need to wait till winter!
