Anyone know which is the best and most complete caliper rebuilding kit? There's a ton of them out there, and as usual, I'm starting to overthink it. Thank's.
I would not mess with rebuilding them. Have tried, but never with much success. If you still have original calipers, they are likely pitted and difficult to smooth, and get a good seal on the new pistons. If they have already been sleeved, maybe possible to use rebuild kit because the stainless steel sleeves do not corrode as easily. Rebuilt calipers are pretty cheap these days. I think even Auto Zone and the other parts stores carry pretty good units, some with a lifetime warranty.
Hi LIC,
One thing you may want to check in to is the sealing method of your rebuild kit.
The originals had 'lip' seals, but there are now 'O-Ring"' seals too.
Using 0-ring seals requires new pistons, but you may want to consider them since people report they seal very well.
Good Luck!

Alan
