I am trying to determine the cause of a sloppy window crank. The window rollers and bushings look ok down in the tracks, but when I bring the window up or down the crank seems sloppy. I mean that I am turning the crank but the window does not move at the same time. It is hard to explain, so I am hoping that someone has had this experience.
Yes, it seems more than that. To the point where I try to help the window up and down with my hand on the top of the glass. The slop seems to be where the handle is. The passenger side seems more like you describe.
Hi hp,
It sounds to me like perhaps your winder **** might be worn.
The ****, and the shaft it connects to, both have teeth cut into them that mesh when the **** is pushed on to the shaft. If they're worn, the **** handle slips as you wind it up or down.
Both the **** and the shaft are available.
Maybe?
Regards,
Alan
I just went through this, maybe not the same as yours.
I replaced my cranks to only look better but after a while they were very sloppy and wouldn't work. I thought that the regulator or something else was broken. turned out the after market cranks
splines werent as long as the originals and the depth of the hole where the shaft goes in wasn't as deep and not allowing the spring "C" clip to grab the grove in the shaft.
I put the OEM's back on and all good.
Can't trust this ChiCom junk.
