Default New 82 New problems

Thank you for the welcome well for the third time I need a manual.Every time I sell my vettes I say never again give away my books,my expensive cover and my Rain coat (the top that replaces the t-tops,I love that thing,Great for florida where the sky is sunny one minite and then surprise).I already have 3 problems. One the clutch converter is not locking up so I hooked up a switch between A and F on the OBD1 port behind the ashtry,A temp solution. Not sure how to track that down. Two I see the fuel pump fuse is wired to a switch source on the fuse block, the connector by the back battery with the little heat sink has no wires attached.Looks like he hot wired the fuel pump to just go on with the key.Dont know if that is good. And three I have a code 42 something with the esc spark control, car runs fairly smooth although gas mileage is dissapointing.Any thoughts please, and the least expensive source for the repair manual would help. Thanks so much all of my fiberglass friends!

this is for your code 42, note the comment about ignition wires, what type do you have, solid core, resistance, etc.

most of the corvette vendors carry them, try Wilcox who is a sponsor of this site. I dont think there is a problem engaging it at 40 mph but as you know that is not how it should be working.

you have a lot of electrical problems.i wonder how many of them are all connected.on your 42 code you need to check on the passenger side of the engine block by the starter is your knock sensor .the wire falls off or the connector breaks off ,check that out .then clear the code and see if there is anything else.the trans od is locked up from the computer.check the factory wires from the computer to the trans.
