Re: Ebay strikes again???? (Sean Willard)
Yeah and it seems all of these corvettes on ebay are always RARE
I picked up a free copy of the local car trader newsletter today. In it I found a white '94 automatic Vette with a headline that read: "ONE FOR THE COLLECTORS!"
This one smells to high heaven. The current high bidder has exactly zero feedback. This guy's trying to imply that the car's an L88 without actually coming out and saying it. The car's not bad, but very little about it is original. I smell a big hairy rat.
I think that he forgot another important RARE about this car: It's a mid engine :) If he knew that he prob. would ask the so $80K
Ebay........Whatever.....
Paul
Well, I would say the car is probably worth around 22k. Possibly a bit more if the original parts are included. Actually, if it is an air car and has the 350/350. It would be well worth 23-25k. You have to consider that just because the bidding reachs 25k. That does not mean the car is actually going to sell for that. I sold my 1985 3 times on ebay. Not once did anyone actually buy it at the end of the auction. There are alot of dreamers out there. I think they grt off on bidding up your car. :smash:
I'd say someone is bidding up the car. Without a doubt. If it's the seller, trying to build fake interest, he may have screwed himself, as he'll have to pay the fees.
I'm not as up on my 69 fine points as I should be, but I was assuming that its a SB with an L88 hood. My guess is that it should be worth around 18-20 K. Anyone want to tell me how far off I am?

Well, I know of a nice '69 SB convertible going for $16.5 here locally, and I paid far less than $25K for my low milage '69 BB convertible about two weeks ago. So $25K for that one seems pretty far out of line to me. My personal guess is it's worth between $16K and $18K.
I just checked out the bid history on this car. 14 bids and only 2 bidders...
Maybe - the seller created (or had somebody create) a different Ebay Userid to bring the price up.... I can't imagine that somebody would actually pay $25k for a small block convertible......
Well, it IS the only '69 Convertible out there with EXACTLY 94,942 miles on it, and it does have a set of "Hooster" tires installed, so I'd say it was one-of-a-kind for sure! I mean, how many '69 convertibles with 94,942 miles, Hooster tires and the wrong hood do you see everyday???
