I think MassVette is running the progressive setup on his, but I could be wrong. Do a search and you'll be able to see his. I'm running dual 500 Carters on my streetrod, but I use solid linkage for them. Edelbrock has the progressive setup pictured with the intake on their webpage, but it is a pretty small picture. Are you thinking of making your own, or are you just looking for something that looks good and is ready to bolt on?
My neigbhor has the twin 600 Edelbrocks and his linkage is from Edel. It should be the same as a Carter. It's also solid linkage. So 4 primaries open at the same time. He has the lowrise intake on a hot solid cam 406 ci.
I've ran dual 660's and a dual 500 cfm tunnel rammed street rods with 337 ci. Great fun :)
8TL82,
I made my progressive linkage for the dual Elelbrock on a C-26 combo. Let me know if this is the manifold you are using. I can take pictures of the setup. Very simple to make with 1/4" dia rod, square key stock and 2 #10-32 Hiem joints.
I used this setup originally on my T-Bucket but it will be finding its way to the Vette very shortly.

Steve, If it's not a problem, I'd like to see the pics. I have two spare 500 carters out in the shed, and as soon as I find a cheap C-26 on ebay, I will be putting them on the vette. It may not be worth a single HP, but the cool factor makes it all worth it. I am tempted to run them with solid linkage like my street rod, but it may be better to go progressive.
That's exactly it!! The COOL FACTOR! Right now I have an Edelbrock triangle air cleaner installed by the PO I guess because the single quad highrise intake wouldn't allow the original to clear. I have had many problems with that type of air cleaner in the past.
I will take the pics after work and post the URL here tomorrow morning.

Here is the link to the images of the dual quad linkage. Imade this setup after seeing one on a Nova at a local cruise night. When this setup goes on the Vette it will not be with the bugcatcher. I will keep it under the hood.
Here it is: http://users.loa.com/~mgbsteve/pics/Auto/dualquads/
If there are any questions I will try to answer.

Steve, Thanks for posting the pics. I'll probably do something similar when the time comes. How is the part throttle fuel distribution? Do the front cylinders lean out much under part throttle? How was the throttle response with your setup? Also, do you have any ideas for air cleaner setups for your vette when you switch to the dual quads? I was thinking of going with the Edelbrock or Weiand triangular air cleaners with the foam inserts, but I may just end up making something custom. I believe that some of the factory dual qauds on the fords used a large oval filter to cover both. Perhaps something like that would look good too. Here is what I made for my ******, but I will do something different for the vette if or when the time comes.
tsw71,
I'm pretty sure the front cylinders run a bit leaner on just the rear carb but when this setup was on the T-bucket, it was not all that bad. I could tell because the front 4 header pipes did not glow when cruising out on the highway when it was properly set up. The throttle response was great. When I had an unrelated problem, I leaned out the carbs and took it for a quick highway blast that turned the pipes bright cherry red and destroyed the chrome. Just a little bit of oxygen and the pipes would have disintergrated! As it turned out, I had a problem with the wiring to my Accel coil and burned the points making the engine feel like it was running rich.
As for the air cleaner set up, initially I may run the dual mini round units with the chrome covers that I have. Eventually I would like to get the Edelbrock oval air cleaner (either in chrome or aluminum). I don't like the triangle ones. Had problems melting the foam on my old 240Z/Chevy V8 conversion back in the '80s.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. How soon does the second carb begin to open? 1/4 throttle or sooner/later? This setup sure sounds like fun.
I was not aware that Edelbrock made that air cleaner setup. I looked it up on Summit and it looks pretty nice. I think I will probably end up just buying one of their filter elements and make something similar, but mill in some sort of crossed flag design or something corvette specific.
Yes, the front carb starts to open at about 1/4 of the rear carb. They both hit WOT at the same time due to the different pull radii. There are really only two holes on each carb to set this linkage up so the ratios are pretty much fixed, but if a special set of mounting brackets were made, the front/rear open sequence could be fine tuned further. To be honest I think it would be a waste of time for street use.
I'd be interested to see your custom air cleaner set up. It should look nice. K&N should make a filter for the Edlebrock set up.
