How many 1968+ owners out there have a nice car...cared for over the years, parts that need replacing, replaced, but still, when NOT on a nice level freeway hear those Squeaks and Rattles....?
I put hushmat on everything but the rear compartment. That helped a little with the noise and a lot with heat.I thought about lining the compartments. It's a one way trip.Once its in there its there to stay.Looks kinda strange when you open the lid.I just turned fifty and I'm starting to rattle like the car.
Hi Bob,
I remember the rear window and the roof panels squeaking when I drove it home from the dealer the first time.
I still fell in love!
Regards,
Alan
I had to remove and replace the rear window. It stopped a lot of the squeaks and rattles. I'm surprised it didnt fall out on its own driving down the street. There was all kinds of silicon and different types of sealers back there to be cleaned off. with everything cleaned up , 3M primer and 3M rope ..reinstalled and now she runs quit and solid. check yours out for sure..

Well...I came home, uncovered her, popped the rear window out, and took off...NO NOISE!!!!! Came back, put the window back in, out for a spin.....STILL NO NOISE!!!
Guess like the rest of us, they need to "Stretch" every now and then.....LIFE IS GOOD!
I seem to get alot of help from listening to some old timers I know. When it came to noises that can't be found. They spray that silicone lube on window and door rubber. I couldn't believe rattles come from rubber contact. These guys laugh at new things because solutions have been around back in the day....... bryan.
