Default 1975 ammeter problem

HI,
My ammeter has stopped working & the needle is now faceing the floor ( pointing downwards) so I presume I need another gauge BUT I have read there are two fuseable connections but cannot find them.
Do you think it possible one of the fuese is blown or ( more likely the winding on the ammeter is shot)? is it possible to replace the winding wire on the ammeter? any help on locating the fuses and possible rewinding of the wire would be much appreciated.
The problem occured whilst I was cleaning contacts on the distributor ( I stupidly did not disconnect the battery) when I fired her up the needle bounced and ended up aiming at the bottom of the gauge. I know i am to blame, anyway any help especialy with pictures would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

your problem is not caused by a blown fuse. Vendors on this site should have a replacement gauge.

On a 75, one link is just out of the firewall block and the other is at the starter.
Someone here posted winding instructions at one time, just have to do some key word searches.
