Seat track lubricant?
I have my seats out and while I have them out I might as well....
Clean up the track. Well that is done, what kind of lubricant should I use for them? Bearing grease?
Thanks in advance.

Any lubricant will work. Try a white lithium spray-on grease. You can get a spray can at any auto parts store. :steering:

Re: Seat track lubricant? (comp)
i use a graphite lube, it doesn't seem to collect dust and dirt as much
used molybedium sulfide (sp) with great results. Like a powered graphite.

I used "Butcher's Wax", the lube that I had cleaned from the tracks was like a paste. It could have been dried out but the car was only 7 years old at the time I did it. That was in 1982, 22 years later the seat tracks work fine.

White lithium grease is what the factory used. But, the spray stuff doesn't have much lube in it; you're better off with the tube type white lithium grease.

I use PJ1 Black label motorcycle chain lube for lots of applications on my Vettes including seat tracks and door lock mechanisms. Just be careful spraying door locks as the inside fiberglass is raw and will absorb lubricants that may migrate out and cause paint problems. PJ1 goes on as a liquid and dries to a synthetic grease.
