Default 75 set up like 68-72 or something... need help

i got a new water pump for this year car but now have a huge problem. on the other pump (68-72 size), there was a tab on the top that i was able to use to tighten 2 bars that held up my alternator. this new pump doesn't have that tab and after a little research i realize i have the wrong bars for the alt. does anybody know how the alternator is supposed to be mounted? where can i get the correct bars and how do they mount to the engine or water pump or whatever. does 68-72 have 2 straight bars coming off the top of the pump- 1 going to the bottom of the alt, the other to the top? i'll try to get some pictures up in a little bit if i can.
also i have a smaller pipe that came off the top of my water pump and tucked down under the pass side of the engine and i don't know where it goes on this new pump. does it go back on the top where there's some piece i can screw out (i thought this was some sort of bleeder thing like on the tstat covers) or on the pass side of the pump where there's a hole with threads in it?

certified insane as of this morning

i can't get any pictures... technology is useless

In 1969 there was one alternator adjustment brace going to the top of the alternator and a bracket on the side of the head that the alternator pivots on. Again on a 1969 the top of the pump has an unused plug and the side pipe goes to the heater core. Did you look at vendor sites to see the correct parts for 1975? Do you have the factory service manual or AIM?

i got a pump from autzone that was supposed to be for 75 and it seemed to be correct for the car. the number was CWP (chevy water pump i assume)461 but the one that is in the car is # 490.anyways i went back to the style that was on the car when i bought it so it's all fitting again.
i know what your talking about with the alternator moounts, but for some reason i have an extra one that comes from the bottom of the alt on the front side of bracket that it pivots on going to the same tab on the top of the water pump. i realized that pipe went to the heater core. for some reason that just skipped my mind at the time. time to stop messing around with it and just drive the darn thing!
you've been a big help to me melwff... whatever your real name is

The 75 assembly instruction manual shows the factory mounting of the alternator, shows the brackets, and lists the original part numbers for them. Compare the AIM diagram with what you find on your car. A previous owner may not have done you any favors.

PO did me absolutely no favors whatsoever!!! well i do like the sidepipes and intake manifold
new question for y'all. on the PS pulley, how many belt grooves are there supposed to be? i have 2 on mine but everything i'm finding on the internet only shows 1. one place said that the 2 grooved size was used on big blocks.
i have no money for that AIM manual everybody here keeps raving about.
